• Interview went... uh. It went? I was interviewed by the same guy as Tuesday and his wife, the co-owner. He brought up some concerns about me not having experience in the main industries they work for and I understand those concerns. I just hope that my answer to show my willingness to learn was good enough. I can't learn without the experience and half the battle is dealing with the PEOPLE in those industries. I have eight years of working with customers and clients in advertising so I'm sure I could handle myself with a little training. We'll see how it goes. He said I'd get a call one way or another so at least I'll KNOW.

• J's last day today. It was a pretty quiet day since the publisher doesn't come in on Fridays and the ass. pub is on vacation. No one who make the actual decisions was there today to see her off and I'm not sure if either of them even said goodbye to her yesterday or before leaving on vacation. I spoke with her supervisor at the other paper she worked exclusively for until she was moved to our department and got some background on when she started and what she did because I only know the classified part. As he put it, "she's underappreciated and underrated". And it's so true.

As much as I wanted to wring her neck at times because there were some parts of the job she JUST DIDN'T GET and it screwed things up, what she knew how to do she did WELL. Like, her telemarketing for the other paper brings in close to $100k a year. That's insane. And there's no one to pick that up because the dude in the next province over who's also supposed to do that stuff hasn't brought in even $5000 in 18 months. HOW?!

ANYWAY. One of the guys in circulation said he wanted me to do his goodbye speech when he leaves (he won't, LOL. He'll likely retire there if the paper doesn't crumble around him) and I got a lot of compliments on it. If there's something I'm good at it's coming up with shit on the fly!

• I washed all my bedding and put the sheets I got for my birthday and the new duvet cover I picked up a month or so ago on the bed. It's time to start sleeping IN bed again! I took a shower once I was done getting the bed changed (UGH changing sheets and putting on a new duvet cover!) and shaved my legs so I can have the BEST SLEEP EVER.

I hate fall because it means summer is over and winter is coming but GODDAMN I LOVE FRESH SHEET DAY! It's probably one of the high points of my week every other one when I change them, shower, and shave. It's so smooth and relaxing and asdjhasdkjhasd.

• Lost all my tabs again. I had to hard crash my computer and when it rebooted Chrome didn't load properly so I force quit it. When it re-opened it prompted me to restore the tabs. BUT. Because Chrome didn't load right upon the reboot it restored one tab. :( First world problems, amirite?

Couldn't agree more! I just love when I change my beddings, and put on something with a delicate scent in my my brand new bed :) (I bought myself this iron, a bit princess-like thing this summer :)). And I too shower, shawe and put on fresh pajamas whenver I change them (which should be next Monday, if I can find the time...). And now that I started using this under the shower cream is even better!

I'm sorry to say Chrome and I don't agree any longer; it could go on my work computer, but at home, where I have a windows 10 computer- but rather small and non powerful, Chrome is just meh- which is why I switched to Cortana and its explorer.

I go back and forth between Chrome and Firefox every couple years. This last time I had to because I'd right click in firefox and it would take upwards of 30 seconds for me to be able to copy/paste/save/etc. I never found out why it was like that.

Good luck! It's so hard to tell at the end of interviews. At least he actually talked about his concerns and you were able to respond to that. It seems like your customer service experience should be really valuable to them.

I'm REALLY hoping so. I don't know if this is the ideal job for me right now but it'll get me out of my shitty situation at the moment. And if I do get it and learn about those fields via this job I'll be pretty excited because it means I have that much extra experience under my belt.

Ya, I think the most important thing going forward is learning new things and building a broader skill set. Sounds like this job would do that. Then you could get something even better afterwards!

I have students telling me all the time that they have all these tabs open and I don't get it. Doesn't that crash the browser regularly? I use Pocket and it is great. https://getpocket.com/

I love fresh sheet day, too. I usually take my shower in the mornings, but on fresh sheet day, I have to take it at night.

My browser rarely crashes on its own and when it does it usually keeps the tabs. Sometimes when I restart my computer it randomly drops certain tabs but without any kind of pattern. Chrome has a neat function that allows you to "kill" tabs that have become unresponsive without needing to crash the whole app. I regularly have 80+ tabs in one window with a second holding under 30-ish.

I use pocket already but almost exclusively for recipes. I've tried using it for things to "go back to" later but I never do so things just pile up and never get looked at. I like having it for recipes, though, because I can look up things I've saved at the store when I want to try something new!
